Get Art Smart!

Would you like your child to do more art but feel you're not sure where to start - or when you do get started you or the children lose focus or interest and become frustrated?

Would you like to know more about art over the centuries and how we came to the art we have today? Would you like your child to benefit from the therapeutic side of looking at, and creating art? Or perhaps you would just like them to have some fun!! If this sounds like your child, I think they will enjoy spending some time learning about art and creativity with me.

Sometimes, Art gets a bad rap, it's the class we all mess about in, don't focus and maybe just view it as a time to kick back and relax. While some fun, mess and relaxation can be a great thing and very important to creativity – Art can be underestimated for its ability to raise our cognitive abilities and increase our sense of wellbeing and emotional health.

It has been well documented that the benefits of art are powerful. It can establish identity, develop mindfulness, and often involves other academic subjects, like history, science and even maths! It can even affect the positivity inducing chemicals in the brain! The benefits of art and creativity can touch all aspects of our lives and should be considered as part of a balanced and progressive education. It is important to note that art and design are part of the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum.

My Story

Hi! I'm Lucy

I live in Bishops Stortford in the South East of the UK and I have been an artist for around 16 years. I have studied art and design along with textiles at college and loved every minute of it! Now in a world of Zoom we can finally share our knowledge and experience to a wide audience in ways we never could have before.

I would love to share your child's art story and help them to develop their own skills, and ability but most importantly your child's confidence in creating and developing their own work. For more information, contact me today.
